Versions & snapshots
The Versions section in the side panel captures restore points for your diagram. A version is a snapshot of the full diagram at a moment in time — perfect for marking milestones before a big refactor, after a review, or at the end of a sprint.
Saving a version
- Open the Versions section in the side panel.
- Optionally name the version (for example, "Before splitting users table").
- Click Save to snapshot the current state.
If you don't provide a name, the version is labelled Version N automatically.
Reading the list
Each version row shows:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The name you gave it, or Version N. |
| Time | A relative timestamp (for example, "2 hours ago"). |
| Author | Who captured the version. |
What you can do with versions
Versions let you:
- Capture milestones you can return to later.
- Compare any version against the current diagram.
- Roll back to a known-good state.
tip
Name your versions at meaningful moments — they're far easier to find later than a wall of timestamps.
Next, see Compare & restore to diff and roll back, and Save strategy to choose between automatic and manual capture.
